5 Ways to Save Your Camera Battery

Wednesday, May 20, 2009 @ 03:05 pm by stephen

Don’t overcharge

When your camera battery does need recharging, do so, but don’t leave the battery on the charger all week.

Dim the LCD

LCDs are the biggest component to draw power on your camera battery.   If possible, dim the brightness to save battery life.

Use the LCD as briefly as possible

Turning the preview setting off may be the most helpful tip here.

Stop deleting images from the camera

If you’ve got a large memory card (you should), there is no need to delete images on the camera itself.  Wait until your back at the computer to so.  This can really drain battery life.

Use an external flash

Pretty self explanatory.  If you often shoot with the flash, get yourself an external.  The results will be much better and as an added bonus, your camera battery will thank you as well.

Drama, drama. I'm looking at you "Fiji".

Saturday, July 19, 2008 @ 09:07 am by stephen

Ahhh Microsoft Codename “Fiji”.  You have been most awaited, most revered, and lately a most unwarranted pain in the ass.  What are you anyway?  No one really knows.  “Fiji” was supposed to be this rather large update of Windows Media Center before the launch of Windows 7.

However, the latest release “Windows Media Center TV Pack 2008″ does not appear to be “Fiji”.  I could be totally wrong.  The TV Pack seems to be some behind closed doors commercial update.  “Fiji” was about UI updates, extenders, and special new features; certainly not just QAM, HD recording, and teletext.

“Fiji” show yourself and show us what we’ve waited for.
